How Do You Shortlist & Select A Mattress Online?

These days, we buy everything online … from our groceries, clothes, furniture, etc. We can find anything under the sun online and people do purchase anything and everything online!

When it comes to mattresses, however, many people still find that they rather go to a showroom and test out the mattress before committing to it. After all, a mattress is something that you use everyday for many years.

As an online mattress store, we appreciate this mindset that many people tend to have and that is why we strive to provide as much information as possible to the customer, as well as help to shortlist and select the mattress together with the customer based on the information given by the customer.

Here are 4 factors you want to consider to make it easy for you to shortlist a suitable mattress online.

 1. Budget

The price range for mattresses can be really big, from low hundreds to high thousands. Decide how much you are comfortable to spend.

There are many good and reliable brands that offer value for money, with 8- 12 years warranty that you will be able to get for under a thousand dollars.

For mattresses that are unbelievably low priced, you do want to be cautious and do your due diligence to check the brand, type of springs, reviews of the brand and mattress model if any, length of warranty, country it is manufactured in.

 2. Type of Mattress

Depending on your budget, you may be limited in your choice on the type of mattress. Here is a list of the more common ones, listed in order of price point

  1. Foam
  2. Bonnel Spring
  3. Pocketed Spring
  4. Memory Foam
  5. Natural Latex

 3. Firmness

At Sleep Space, we rate our mattresses on 4 levels – soft, medium, medium firm, firm. Look out for these firmness rating charts when choosing your mattress.

 4. Topper

A topper on a mattress is pretty common these days. The purpose of a topper is to supplement the comfort of your mattress. It can add support to a soft mattress and also add luxurious softness while not taking away from the support of the mattress.

This is really a personal choice and it does add to the overall cost of the mattress. So, decide if a topper is something that is necessary for you. If you are on a tight budget, it may be something that you can forego.
